Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II went undrafted out of college. Since then, he rose from being waived and then working on his game to eventually become a starting defensive back with the Colts. Those performances have rewarded him well. But after he recently signed his second major contract, the now seven-year NFL veteran decided to do something special for his mother.
The Georgia native was on video before his mother got inside his car. He had her day planned out and shared the heartwarming moment in an Instagram video.
We're here to surprise my mom with a new house. Something I’ve been wanting to do since I was a little kid. It’s crazy that this day is now here. So, let's go and see how it goes.Kenny Moore II said to the camera
He then drives her to a house in his hometown, which he most likely knew his mother would like. As they walk on the pathway, his mother agrees that she loves it. But as soon as they enter the house, she is greeted by their family members. At that instant, his shocked mother bursts into tears and is hugged by Moore.
This heartwarming gesture was something the Indianapolis Colts cornerback wanted to do for a long time. But now that he has signed a 3-year $30 million contract, he was able to fulfil his mother’s dream of having a house such as this one.
Gifting his mother a house is probably one of the best ways to show gratitude to her work as a parent. After all, without her guidance and care, Moore would not have become a Pro-Bowl cornerback after being waived at the very beginning of his career.
Kenny Moore II went from being undrafted to the Pro-Bowl
An undrafted to Pro-Bowl story is something that warms the hearts of anyone associated with sports. Such is the story of Kenny Moore II. After declaring for the 2017 NFL draft, the Division II cornerback went undrafted. While the New England Patriots signed him to a 3-year deal, they cut him in the final rounds of cuts despite a strong showing in practice.

Then the Indianapolis Colts claimed him off waivers and he was part of their depth chart starting only five games. The following year, after head coach Frank Reich took over, Moore II won the starting cornerback job. Since then, he has not looked back, notching up 17 interceptions to date despite being all of 5′ 9″. Surely, a true testament to his determination to be at his best every day.
A Pro Bowl nod and two contracts later, the now 28-year-old has been able to fulfil his mother’s dream. He did all that on the back of his ability to play football despite the odds.
