The charter lawsuit drama is finally over, as NASCAR and 23XI Racing/Front Row Motorsports decided to settle the battle outside the court after almost two weeks long ugly trial. The whole racing community is beyond relieved over the settlement and ex-racer Kenny Wallace, who was emotionally invested in the drama from day one, is one of them.

On his YouTube channel, the veteran shared a video titled “Did Johnny Morris’ SCATHING Letter Force NASCAR To Settle?” he shared his thoughts on the drama. One of the major points he discussed while sharing his views was the exit of Hall of Famer Tony Stewart from the sport last season, by selling his stake in Stewart Haas Racing and selling three of their charters.

They are now a one car team, under the Haas factory team brand, with Cole Custer as their driver. He revealed that not a single team owner liked the direction of the sports before the settlement, and that was one of the major reasons why Tony Stewart left. The veteran couldn’t find a way to run the team sustainably and NASCAR’s policy changes on revenue sharing alongside competition made it worse.

Every single NASCAR car owner does not like where NASCAR is headed. And we knew this is why Tony Stewart left the sport. We all know that. But there’s been a lot of teams that have gotten out of the sport because they can’t afford it.

Kenny Wallace said via his YouTube channel.

NASCAR has lost many teams over the years like iconic ones like SHR because of the poor business model the sport had. But now with the evergreen charters being accepted after settlement, shows signs of massive progress. If all the cards are played right, in the long run the teams are going to have a bright future which will only grow the sport further.

Kenny Wallace gives NASCAR a serious advice after lawsuit settlement

In a separate YouTube video on the same topic, the veteran racer shared more of his thoughts on the settlement. He admitted that NASCAR lost their advantage on court when CEO Jim France and Commissioner Steve Phelps started giving vague answers to fundamental questions in the witness stands and this played a significant role in tej settlement talks.

Come on, guys. Let’s do bullshit this a little bit. When Jim France and Steve Phelps said, ‘I don’t know. I don’t remember.’ That means they don’t want to talk about it. That was not good.

Kenny Wallace said.

He then shifted his focus to how to move forward with an entirely different era ahead of them. Kenny Wallace pointed out that the sanctioning body now has to make the race fans happy by showing humility and shift their focus to making racing better. The playoffs format can be the first step in the changes that are coming.

The lawsuit is over. What does NASCAR need to do to make you happy? I think all they need to do is show humility and move forward.

Kenny Wallace added.

NASCAR needs to listen to the veteran and make changes accordingly. There is also a need for a change in the leadership in the sport and the time might have come for Jim France to take a step backwards and give the control of the sport to Ben Kennedy, who has new ideas to build the sport to something better.
