The whole NASCAR community focusses on the outcome of the antitrust lawsuit filed by 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, as the trail gets more dramatic with every witness testimony. Former racer/broadcaster Kenny Wallace has been actively covering the drama via his media company/YouTube channel and has made a bold statement on the whole saga.
In the recent video shared on Kenny Wallce’s YouTube channel titled “This Is The Worst Thing To Come Out Of The NASCAR Lawsuit”, the veteran racer pointed out that it’s time for the sport to end its dictatorship style leadership, with the charter system changing the whole dynamics. If they hadn’t given the teams the charter in the first place, they could’ve pulled of this move.
We can’t do a dictatorship anymore. Those days are gone. If NASCAR would have stayed a dictatorship, if they would have said, ‘Nobody gets a charter. That’s the way it is.’ none of this would happen.
Kenny Wallace said on his YouTube channel.
He then shifted his focus to the sport ownership, the France family who build the sport. The veteran highlighted how NASCAR leadership is much different compared to the other sport it is competing against, such as Liberty Media with F1 and Fox Sports owing 1/3ed of IndyCar. The stock car racing series isn’t like that, but it might be time for it to become like that.
It has become bigger than a family-run business. Let’s be honest. NASCAR is a family-run business. Look at Formula 1, it’s owned by Liberty Media Group. Look at IndyCar. Roger Penske sold a third to Fox Sports. I understand NASCAR is not like anything else. I get that.
Kenny Wallace asserted.
Kenny Wallace admits it might be time for Jim France to sell NASCAR
In the same conversation, the multi-time Busch Series race winner pointed out that it might be the time for the sport owners to sell the series as the sport has become bigger that a family business. The veteran reiterated that he is making these arguments while having massive respect for the family for what they have done for the sport.

I feel like NASCAR should probably sell. It’s become bigger than a familyrun business…In 2025, should the greatest stock car series in in America and the world still be a family-run business? The answer to that is probably no, while still giving the France family all the credit in the world for what they built.
Kenny Wallace added.
The lawsuit is making the sport more complicated and regardless of the final verdict, the leadership will have some huge challenges coming their way. The best way to end the drama and put some of it under the rug is to settle it outside the court. Find a solution that everyone can agrees with it and it would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for them.
