American tennis star Frances Tiafoe earned his spot at the US Open quarterfinals on September 1st. While this was his third consecutive time, the celebrations waited as Tiafoe gave a special shoutout to Scandal star Tony Goldwyn. Little did he know other people connected to the television series also attended. Subsequently, Goldwyn’s Scandal co-star Kerry Washington sent him love.

Frances Tiafoe won his place in the quarterfinals for the third consecutive time. He took the moment to fan-boy over Tony Goldwyn’s series Scandal. Fellow actor Scott Foley (Jake Ballard) and creator Shonda Rhimes also attended. While Kerry Washington was missing, she joined in on the post shared by the US Open. Kerry Washington commented, “Awesome,” on the post by US Open along with emojis.

Chris Eubanks was interviewing Tiafoe when the former grabbed the mic before Eubanks wrapped up the interview. The American tennis star expressed his appreciation for the actor while mentioning that he and his girlfriend watch Goldwyn’s Scandal all the time. The camera panned towards Goldwyn, who cheered for the athlete.

Next up, Tiafoe is set to face off against Grigor Dimitrov for his place in the semi-finals on 3rd September. This will be a crucial moment for Tiafoe after he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in 2022, who became the eventual champion. Last year, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Ben Shelton. As such, he will aim to perform well in the next round.

What Frances Tiafoe is loved for, besides his work at the court, is his hold on the audiences. Tiafoe has been playing Tennis since he was four. Likely, the athlete would have his set schedules and routines. In a conversation with The Cut, Frances Tiafoe was asked for his go-to music to get hyped up.

Further, he was asked for an album which, if given the choice, he would play during his matches. Tiafoe revealed that lately, he had been listening to Nipsey Hussle. In relation to this, the tennis player said that his album to play during the matches would probably be Victory Lap.

Tiafoe also asked the people to catch the album. He further revealed his pre-match ritual was to listen to music along with other motivational things. While Tennis as a sport has gained momentum as of late, with the hype surrounding the movie Challengers and documentary Break Point, Tiafoe’s history with the sport dates way back.
