The NFL playoffs started off with exciting Wild Card games, setting up fans to look towards the Divisional round. With the Detroit Lions set to take on the Washington Commanders next, it brought Phoenix Suns stars and football fans Kevin Durant and Devin Booker to the forefront.

Kevin Durant is an ardent fan of his hometown Commanders. He has often spoken up about the excitement rookie QB Jayden Daniels brought to his team. Even though he has not spoken up much about it off late, their first playoff win in nearly two decades must have excited him.

On the other hand, Devin Booker is from Michigan, home of the Detroit Lions. He is an ardent supporter and wears Lions gear to NBA games. Reporters knowing all too well that the two Phoenix Suns stars will be cheering on for their respective home teams asked Booker if there was going to be a wager between them, to which he replied.

For sure. Whatever he wants to do.

Devin Booker said

It is unclear what wager they placed, but what they did reveal was that there was a chance they would make it to the game. The Lions-Commanders Divisional round matchup will be at Ford Field on Saturday. It happens to be just a short walk away from Little Caesers Arena where the Suns will play on the same day.

When reporters clarified that the Lions-Commanders game was on Saturday itself, Devin Booker was relieved that he did not have to stay back another day to catch the game. In fact, the matchup is only a few hours after the Suns play the Detroit Pistons, suggesting both stars could take their wagers live into the game.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker helping Suns return to winning ways

The Phoenix Suns opened their season with a stellar 9-2 record. Since then, they posted a 7-17 record that dropped them out of playoff contention. However, they have since won three straight games at home and have managed to bring their team back to a .500 record.

One of the changes that helped them was the decision to move superstar Bradley Beal to the bench. That helped improve the playmaking and also improved the spacing whenever Beal lined up alongside Booker and Durant.

That has helped the team thrive and their three wins have been their best stretch since early November. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are leading the charge as the Suns look to build on this winning streak. If they are to contend for the NBA title, they have to win a lot of games from now on.
