Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are two of the standout performers in the NBA who have consistently wowed fans with their top performances. Not only have they done that, but the duo has also racked up numerous accolades between themselves over the years.
In a recent episode of TVOne Raising Fame, Wanda Durant and Sonya Curry, the mothers of both NBA stars, talked about their sons’ careers. They also discussed about how their sons would have won more championships if they were still teammates.
Sonya, you realize we were in the thicker together for years... Men, we would've had twenty rings by now. And it was about ten years ago. That's how cold they were.Wanda Durant on TVOne Raising Fame
According to them, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant would have achieved much more in the league, if they had remained on the same team. Furthermore, their mothers assert that both NBA superstars are immensely talented and would have gifted them 20 championship rings already.
Durant left the Golden State Warriors back in July 2019, via a sign-and-trade for the Brooklyn Nets. Curry, however, chose to stay put and continue with the franchise. Nonetheless, both players have gone on to achieve incredible highs in their careers. Which makes it worth thinking if they could have outdone themselves if they simply stayed together.
Stephen Curry talks about how he turned up for the USA against France in the Olympics
Despite the USA boasting top stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and others, it wasn’t a walk in the park against France. The hosts brought strong competition in the finals, and the team had to rely on the individual creativity of players like Curry to win the gold medal. Nevertheless, after the euphoria of Olympic glory settled down, Curry opened up about how he successfully achieved back-to-back 3-pointers in that game.
It was just, get to your spot and being there to control, I think... You take those type of shots... You live with the results. A lot of faith. You just let it go and live with the results and thankfully the work took over.Stephen Curry to Mike Tiricio
Curry scored a team-high 24 points in the finals, all coming via three-pointers. And four of those 3s came in the game’s final minutes when it mattered most. Moreover, across both semifinal and finals, Curry scored a total of 60 points. And these performances were enough to see him named to the All-Star Five of the Olympics tournament.
