After hiring Jordan Ott as their new head coach, the Phoenix Suns truly started to open up discussions for Kevin Durant, and it seemed obvious that a deal would be reached before the NBA Draft on June 25. It was logical to assume that the draft would be completed in a week or perhaps a day, but the reports suggest that it may happen sooner.
In addition to this, the Suns’ star Kevin Durant has three teams in mind for a trade out of Phoenix this offseason. Shams Charania said on Saturday that the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets are X Durant’s “preferred trade destinations.” Just as Charania posted this, a Suns reporter, Kellan Olson, took to X to reply to the ESPN reporter’s post.
Kevin Durant’s lack of loyalty is showing yet again! For all the time he has spent paying state income taxes, to do them like this.
Kellan Olson tweeted

Durant is known for his witty nature on and off the court. He is not someone who shies away from any matter that involves him, his future, or his career. His recent reply to Olson is a clear example of his sarcastic nature, throwing shade towards people who talk against him.
Lately, he has been very active on NBA Twitter. Durant has responded to angry Warriors supporters and discussed his proposed trade with the Celtics over the last 6 months. Additionally, he has praised an NBA Twitter user and a Suns reporter for their involvement in basketball. He does not back down against any trolls towards him.
As for his trade, in contrast to a reporter, John Gambadoro‘s projection of sometime next week, Charania stated on Friday on “The Pat McAfee Show” that the deal might happen this weekend. Charania verified Phoenix’s intention in this impending circumstance in a quote tweet under the same topic. It remains to be seen how this unfolds in the coming days.
An NBA insider made a valid case for the Kevin Durant trade deal recently
A player like Kevin Durant in the trade market is hot property. Everyone wants a player like him on the team. That is exactly what is going on in the market, with the name of the Minnesota Timberwolves coming up as the closest to complete a deal. However, an NBA insider, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, feels otherwise.

I know there has been a ton of chatter about the Wolves and KD. I believe, like in February, there is interest. There have been some discussions about deals. But as far as I know, nothing is close. Things can always change quickly, but that’s where I’m at right now
Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic said
Last season, Durant, at 36, scored 52.7% from the field, averaging 26.6 points (sixth in the NBA), six rebounds, and 4.2 assists. He was last named to the All-NBA First Team in 2018 while playing for the Golden State Warriors. All said and done, everyone is eager to watch which team Durant chooses going forward into the trade market.
Another NBA insider revealed that the Rockets are unlikely to finalize a deal for Kevin Durant
A new report claims that one of Durant’s favorite landing destinations is the Houston Rockets. Jake Fischer, another NBA Insider, is doubtful about the Rockets’ chances of making a move for Durant with the Suns despite that development. The Heat and the Spurs are also in the mix to acquire Durant from the Suns(as mentioned above).
Those familiar with Houston’s thinking have long stressed that the Rockets are exceedingly reluctant to try to expedite their climb up the Western Conference ladder by surrendering meaningful trade assets for a player who will turn 37 in September. It’s a long-held stance stemming from the fact that most of the Rockets’ most important players are under 25

Phoenix and Houston have previously discussed a trade for Durant, but they haven’t been ready to spend a fortune to bring the player to Houston. Furthermore, it appears doubtful that they will defeat the other clubs vying for Durant’s services until there is a change in that line of thinking.
