Kevin Durant and LeBron James have been on quite a few teams, with the latter winning titles on 3 of them. They both have been part of some talented teams that old-timers, such as Charles Barkley, were not happy with.

When James used ESPN for his ‘infamous’ The Decision, many of these older players, members of the media, and fans were enraged at the audacity the Akron native displayed.

He chose to team up with his close friends at the Miami Heat, which happened to tick off everyone associated with the league. Since then, he won 2 titles and returned to win another one with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

More importantly, after he decided to join the Heat, many other teams and players started to follow this method of entering free agency and signing with another competitive team.

Durant was the next most famous superstar to do so when he signed with the 73-9 Golden State Warriors, who beat his Oklahoma City Thunder before losing to James’ Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Since then, superteams have become commonplace in the NBA, and every offseason, fans wait to see which team is next. That, according to Charles Barkley, is a problem.

LeBron got all his guys together. KD wanted to go play with the Warriors. I hate when I hear, ‘Man, the second apron’s not fair.’ What do you mean, it’s not fair? If y’all stop all wanting to play together, we wouldn’t have to make up bogus rules to stop y’all from playing together.

The Hall of Famer believes Kevin Durant and LeBron James‘ decisions have led to the current 2nd Apron rules. They have been implemented to avoid the creation of superteams.

Kevin Durant believes ex-Warriors GM is to blame for superteams

Charles Barkley was his usual unabashed self when calling out LeBron James and Kevin Durant for negatively impacting the league’s changing understanding of loyalty. To this, the latter had an epic response in store.

Ooh since we’re playing the blame game, I select Bob Myers as the fall guy.

Kevin Durant replied to Charles Barkley’s allegations

The 2-time champion is trying to suggest that his former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers should be the one to be blamed for the creation of superteams.

Naturally, he is trolling the entire situation while pointing out someone he has tremendous respect for. Essentially, the now Houston Rockets star clapped back at Barkley for starting a blame game.

In a world where loyalty is diminishing in every aspect, solely pointing out two players for starting it was typical of Barkley. Durant just added some humor to the mix, knowing such conversations will not go anywhere.

Kevin Durant corrects fan trying to undermine Charles Barkley

Kevin Durant is known for engaging with heckling fans on social media. He does not stop clapping back at most of them, especially when they are wrong.

After his comment on Charles Barkley’s superteam opinion, a fan tried to propose that without joining a superteam, the Rockets star would have been in the Hall of Famer’s league. This did not sit well with the 2-time Finals MVP.

Barkley is an all time great, you hate basketball so you’ve took him for granted all these years. Charles is one of the most special athletes in sports history, to be compared to him ain’t the insult you thought.

Kevin Durant wrote

This reply shut that fan down, as he was trying to undermine what Barkley has done. Despite their differences over the course of the past decade or more, it seems Durant knows where to draw the line.
