Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant broke the internet with his breathtaking 360 layup moves in Monday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. The stunning move amazed everyone, including Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant. Over the years, NBA fans have been able to expect something special from the Grizzlies superstar. As such, KD showered huge praise upon the All-Star guard.

Kevin Durant admired Morant’s incredible plays but jokingly downplayed his own abilities in the process. The Slim Reaper’s response was more of an admiration from a veteran to a future star of the league. The two-time champion even went as far as to claim Morant was the most athletic person he ever saw.

My goodness! The most athletic person I’ve seen. I don’t want to give him that because he’s young, and there’s been a lot of great athletes in the history of sports. But come on now, to pull that off, that smooth, that easy, it’s ridiculous. He’s a top-level athlete.

Morant’s impressive 360 layup performance during the game generated massive attention. The clips of his layups have amassed over 161 million views, making them the most-viewed clips in the league this season. After missing the majority of last season with injury, the Grizzlies superstar has come back to form.

Last season, he had to deal with disciplinary issues as well, stemming from the controversial guns that kept popping up alongside him. Now, he’s back and reminding his critics of his exceptional talent. Not only Kevin Durant but five-time champion Magic Johnson also praised the Grizzlies guard for pulling off those moves.

Before the election break, the Memphis Grizzlies delivered an impressive performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Western Conference team secured a 122-99 victory over the Bucks. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies took control from the first quarter, as they never relinquished their lead. Three-time NBA champion Danny Green praised Morant’s play on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back show.

He’s definitely a top-2 or top-3 point guard in the league. When he’s right, when he’s playing his best, he can change the dynamic.

His impressive start to the season continues, as he currently averages 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. Only time will tell how far the Grizzlies go if Morant remains healthy.
