Kevin Durant could bring ‘energy back’ to hometown team, says Carmelo Anthony
Phoenix Suns have showed this trade deadline that they are ready to move on from leading superstar Kevin Durant.

Carmelo Anthony feels Kevin Durant should go to his hometown Washington Wizards
Kevin Durant did not want to leave the Phoenix Suns midway through this season. He declined to participate in a trade that would have sent him back to the Golden State Warriors. Now even though the trade did not happen, it has only added on to the notion that the superstar could leave Arizona.
He did not ask for a trade, something he has clarified time and again to several reporters. But the Suns tried to make hay when the sun shined after the Warriors sent them a tantalizing offer. Now he is back playing at his usual elite level trying to win basketball games.
However, since that botched trade, a discourse has started involving the 15-time All-Star‘s future. Many analysts feel he will leave the Suns after this season. That is after he understood that the team showed they can play without him.
Many are expecting him back at the Golden State Warriors. Other teams could also make a play for him with the Houston Rockets holding a sizeable pot of draft picks. However, legend of the game Carmelo Anthony thinks otherwise.
I would like to see him in the Wizards. End it back home. You already got your rings. Go to the Wizards. Bring the energy back to DC. So now go back home, your family, your mom, friends there. Go rekindle that fire back out there in DC.

The last part of Carmelo Anthony’s words was a reference to what Durant mentioned in a trailer of Court of Gold. He shed tears when he talked about his old neighborhood in Washington DC. If he returns, Anthony feels it will be a fitting end to his career.
Kevin Durant to Wizards can rejuvenate basketball in Washington
Kevin Durant is a diehard fan of all DMV area sports teams. He has shown that support for the Washington Commanders this NFL season. Therefore, he will be the perfect superstar to lead the Washington Wizards.
There is no better feeling for a superstar than to lead their hometown team. That prompted LeBron James to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went on to win a title to cement his legacy and that of his team. Durant can do the same with the Wizards.
They traded for Marcus Smart and Khris Middleton this season. Along with the steadily improving Bub Carrington and Alex Sarr, the team have a good nucleus to build on. Add Kevin Durant to the mix and the team suddenly becomes a playoff contender.
Add a couple of complementary players and the Washington Wizards could help the 36-year-old superstar have some great final few years in his hometown. That as per Carmelo Anthony can be the perfect way for Durant to complete his legacy.
