In any sporting community, people tend to form groups and lean on those who are closest to them. TNT sideline reporter and Amazon’s next host of their basketball program, Taylor Rooks, has officially tied the knot.

It will be a while before the 33-year-old starts her duties as lead host of Amazon’s NBA broadcast starting next season. This gave her time to do what she had kept under wraps. No one knew about Rooks’ personal life, which means she did an admirable job of keeping it under the lid.

No one knew about the wedding until the TNT reporter posted photos of her wedding on her official Instagram page. The photos show her married to a mystery man, and she has her trademark wide smile on full display on what should be the happiest day of her life.

The fact that Taylor Rooks did not sport an engagement ring even at the 2025 NBA Draft suggests, she either intentionally did not wear a ring or completed the engagement after her job was over. Either way, these posts have left everyone hanging as no one knows the identity of her husband.

Even her Wikipedia page does not reveal the full name of her husband after one of the photos she shared gave a glimpse of his first name, Shane. The couple married in New York with an exclusive list of guests, which again was revealed through the photos she shared.

Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and Donovan Mitchell headline NBA star guest list

Throughout her career, Taylor Rooks has made quite a few friends in the NBA and NFL communities. For instance, Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley was present. Along with him were other celebrities, rapper Jack Harlow, singer Ella Mai, and billionaire Michael Rubin.

To represent the NBA faction were Kevin Durant and Draymond Green. Again, no one knew of this until Rooks’ Instagram page displayed photos of the two former Golden State Warriors teammates standing on either side of what is possibly Rooks’ grandmother.

Considering how their final few days with the Warriors went, some fans might have been caught off guard. But the two have patched things up and were there to celebrate the NBA reporter’s life-changing moment.

Along with them was the recently engaged Donovan Mitchell, along with his fiancée, Coco Jones. La La Anthony was also present at the reception, and so were many others. But the guest list is not completely clear, as Rooks’ IG story only revealed those few.

In one of those pictures were her bridesmaids. The much-maligned Joy Taylor was one of them, proving that their friendship transcends beyond what the tabloids have to say about the former FS1 host.

Taylor Rooks set to lead Amazon’s $20 billion NBA broadcast

After Amazon Prime Video won their $20 billion bid for the NBA’s next media-rights deal, they set out looking for people to be a part of their broadcast. The first solution was to bring the entire cast and crew of Inside the NBA from TNT Sports’ outgoing NBA broadcast.

However, they stuck to their jobs as their show will continue in collaboration with ESPN. However, some others from the broadcast were available. A couple of them will be a part of NBC’s broadcast, starting next season.

Amazon managed to get hold of Stan Van Gundy, analyst and WNBA legend Candace Parker, part-time Inside the NBA fill-in Dirk Nowitzki, and finally Taylor Rooks. They also brought in Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem, and Blake Griffin.

But to lead them all will be Rooks. The 33-year-old will be their lead studio host, and might also have a hand in producing their shows. It will be an interesting new crew of Hall of Famers, but Rooks had already started prep work last season as she gets ready to lead a new chapter of her life.
