Minnesota Timberwolves star, Anthony Edwards has said multiple times that Kevin Durant is his favorite player of all time. Now for the first time, both stars are going to team up with each other to play for Team USA in the Olympics 2024. During a Team USA interview, Edwards was asked a few questions.
One of the questions Anthony Edwards was asked was about who’s alpha in the team to which he noted Kevin Durant. He also mentioned that both players were in touch before the Team USA training camp started. Edwards always wanted to play alongside Durant and he wouldn’t have turned this opportunity down.

Edwards and Durant have never got a chance to play together. When Edwards was in his rookie year, Durant led Team USA to their 4th consecutive gold medal at the 2020 Olympics. Edwards has not played in the Olympics before. However, he played for Team USA in the FIBA tournament last year where they faced a disappointing loss.
Edwards and Durant played against each other in this year’s playoffs. Where Edwards and his Minnesota Timberwolves swept Durant and his Phoenix Suns. Ant man put in a great and dominant performance in the series and averaged 27.6 points.
Anthony Edwards admits fanboying over Kevin Durant
After the Minnesota Timberwolves swept the Phoenix Suns by 4-0. Star guard, Anthony Edwards played one of the best series of his career. After the series, Edwards admitted he was fanboying over Kevin Durant. Edwards also made this known in the media that he became a fan watching KD.

He admired Durant’s scoring despite the tight defense from Karl-Anthony Towns and Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert. Both the superstars had put on a show in the playoffs for the fans. In the Target Center, Edwards scored 33 points while Durant scored 31 points. They both went back and forth in the series but in the end, Edwards came on top sweeping Durant.
Edwards has proved this playoffs how badly he wants to be the best player in the NBA just like his idol Durant. Durant played his 17th season and might not be the beast he was in his prime but he is still one of the best to play in the league.
