The Phoenix Suns recently played against the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. This matchup was filled with back-and-forth action, with Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic going at each other during the game. However, it was Durant and his side, the Suns, that dunked on Doncic and the Mavs this time around.

Durant was on fire against the Mavericks, converting most of his shots. This garnered immense praise from the NBA community as well as certain NBA experts. Ex-NBA champion Kendrick Perkins is one of them. Kendrick Perkins quickly gave Durant his flowers after the game concluded on a recent segment of the NBA on ESPN Show.

During his 37 minutes of play, Kevin Durant shot 8/14 from the field and 3/6 from three-point range, finishing with 26 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two blocks. These are huge numbers, especially considering the age of the Suns’ star. Not only that, Durant is averaging 27.6 PPG and 6.6 RPG this 2024-25 NBA season.

As for the Mavs, they are currently 5-4 in the West and need a major turnaround after this recent loss. Up next for them are the Denver Nuggets. They will play away from home court. Doncic and the team will look to rebound quickly. The Mavs will need to be at their flying best if they are to secure victory against the Nuggets.

Kevin Durant opens up on playing in his ’17th season’ in NBA after Suns win

Despite the Phoenix Suns winning against the Dallas Mavericks in their most recent matchup, it was Kevin Durant who has made rounds on the internet. Durant was the star performer for his side in their win against the Mavs. After the game, he opened up on the thrilling win and played in his 17th NBA season.

Oh, it’s been fun. I mean its definitely been nerve-wracking with the tight games we’ve been in but I think that’s great for our team to understand what its like in our crunch time and we got stuff we can lean on late in the game..so its gonna make us better.

It’s important to note that the Suns have now won 6 straight games, each by 6 points or fewer. It’s just the fifth time in NBA history that’s happened. The first since the 2009-10 Hornets. The Suns are now 8-1 in the West and sit on top of the table. If the players remain healthy, the Suns can make huge noise at the end of the season.
