Trash talking is one of the most viral aspects of the NBA. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is no stranger to engaging in it or getting into heated verbal spats. NBA fans have seen Durant in intense exchanges with stars like Russell Westbrook and Draymond Green. During the USA’s matchup with South Sudan in the Paris Olympics, KD had some heated trash-talking moments with the opposition.

Kevin Durant got into a confrontation with his former Oklahoma City Thunder coach, Royal Ivey, who is now the head coach of the South Sudan team. The incident began in the second half when Durant was at the free-throw line. From that point on, the two were fixated on each other.

Durant’s trash talk was picked up by the microphones and quickly went viral on social media. Fans even threatened Durant, saying they would burn his jersey.

Durant finally responded to the threats, stating it was just banter and that they even “hugged it out” after the game. Durant and Ivey were teammates when they played for the Thunder and are known to be good friends. However, when it came to standing up for their respective countries, both stars didn’t back down and went at each other.
