Drake celebrated the Fourth of July by releasing new music and images on Friday night. The rapper from Toronto had a lot to say in his most recent song, “What Did I Miss?” which was released during his live stream of “Iceman: Episode 1.” It’s safe to say the song made headlines within moments after it was released by the rapper.

Mainly for containing certain disclosures regarding individuals he once referred to as friends. Drake made some pointed jabs at a number of his former pals in the song, including none other than NBA great LeBron James. To add to this, Drake’s close friend and NBA veteran Kevin Durant also made a controversial X post.

The post contained the same background of the basement where Drake’s latest release was shot, hinting that Durant is siding with Drake over his Team USA pal, LeBron James. However, Durant wasted no time in clearing the accusations regarding this matter. He immediately responded to a fan comment on his post on X.

I really have to applaud how you new era gen XX babies are such dedicated haters of everything.

Kevin Durant wrote on X

Durant is known for his constant social activity. He is one of the most active players among the other NBA players when it comes to social media. Durant’s comments on this matter suggested that he was just supporting his friend and rapper Drake rather than picking any sides between the personalities involved in this matter.

Aside from this, James and Drake go a long way. Their relationship dates back more than ten years, to 2009, when the rapper made his debut. In the years since, they have openly backed one another; Drake even had a tattoo of LeBron James on his bicep.

In particular, the tension is startling because the two used to be so close. Their courtside appearances and collaborative projects demonstrated how well-known and unbreakable their bond was. What social media does best right now is link the dots.

Former NBA player makes interesting Dream 1-on-1 Matchup involving LeBron James and Kevin Durant

The topic of all-time greats facing off against one another is a hot topic in NBA circles. The prospect of witnessing something like this is always of interest to the NBA fan base. This topic was posed to NBA icon John Salley during his most recent VladTV interview. The scenario was presented to the four-time champion, who took a few seconds to figure it out before responding.

LeBron vs. KDLeBron, I always think this, kid don’t really care for me. Which is cool. I don’t mind, but I think he’s an unbelievable talent. But KD is still my favorite.

John Salley told VladTV

In addition to naming his dream 1v1 matchup, Salley also named his favourite pick between the two players. Salley’s statement also makes sense because the interviewer was aware of his well-known support for Durant. It’s important to note that Durant is one of the best 1v1 shooting players.

Regardless of Salley’s thoughts, a matchup between KD and LeBron would provide entertainment for the basketball world. Although they are fierce rivals, both guys greatly admire each other. Durant may have the advantage just due to his shooting prowess, but James is also a skilled jumper.

Kevin Durant recently praised LeBron James for returning to the Cavs for his second stint

After winning the titles with the Miami Heat, LeBron James decided to return to his home team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. James started his career with the Cavs, who picked him as the first pick during the 2003 NBA Draft. Notably, James’ decision to return to the Cavs in 2014 was applauded by his rival, Kevin Durant.

I thought it was well-thought-out. It was classy. It was a great move to do it as a letter. That was pretty cool. It’s funny seeing guys think about more than just basketball for once. He thought about the city where he comes from, about Northeast Ohio, and how he can affect so many of the kids, just being there, playing basketball. I love that.

There is no doubt that “The Kid from Akron” could not have wished for a more spectacular return. In the 2016 Finals, as James returned for his second tenure with the Cavaliers, the team accomplished the unimaginable. James and Kyrie Irving helped end Cleveland’s 52-year championship drought by rallying the team from a 3-1 hole.
