“CTE is in the NBA now too?” – Kevin Durant’s teammate Bradley Beal’s claim has NBA fans in disbelief
Bradley Beal's comments about the Phoenix Suns' 2023-24 NBA season have left fans surprised and in disbelief.
Bradley Beal feels the Phoenix Suns struggled due to injuries to him, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker
Injuries often rob many players of a chance to show their best in sports. Short-term injuries mess with the player’s form while long-term injuries can have a detrimental effect on the team’s overall performances.
The Phoenix Suns faced the brunt of the latter when star Bradley Beal dealt with injuries. That ended up stunting the efforts of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker as they were bounced out of the first round in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Bradley Beal was a guest on the Tidal League podcast recently, where he spoke about the past season and his move to the Suns. He also touched upon the injury issues that plagued the team.
Beal did clarify that he did not mean that they would have won all the games if they were healthy. He meant that they would have been in with a fighting chance to be at the top of the Western Conference had the trio been healthy.
"I missed 30 games and we won 49 games… If I play half of them games, we the number 1 seed in the West"

Those injuries led to them finishing sixth in the West, which brought them face to face with a third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves team that was the perfect antidote to them. The Suns superstar trio of Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker did not play enough games to understand each other well. That led to situations where one of them was shooting lights out while the others sat back. All of these factors led to an early exit in the playoffs.
Bradley Beal’s words leave NBA fans scratching their heads
Bradley Beal’s comments about how a ‘healthy’ Phoenix Suns would have performed have fans in disbelief. Fans believe that the team struggling in the latter part of the season had nothing to do with injuries.
Rather, as most analysts pointed out, a lack of understanding was the big reason. The trio of Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker could not find a way to collectively impact a game, let alone a set of games in a playoff series.
Fans took to social media to respond to Beal’s statement. Check out some of their comments below:

In the upcoming season, the Phoenix Suns will have a new head coach and will be employing a new system. It remains to be seen if that, along with a fully healthy team, translates to a deep playoff run. If they do manage to click well, then they could be dangerous opponents for most teams in the league.
