Kevin Durant was emotional talking about the Olympics on Netflix's teaser

Many athletes come from various backgrounds to compete and become some of the best in the world. Some of them get to represent their nation, such as Kevin Durant did at the Paris Olympics. That trip made him one of the all-time greats who wore the American flag proudly on his chest.

But his journey to that fourth gold medal did not start easily. He did not have his father growing up until he was thirteen. In all that time, he had to resort to his mother and grandmother’s love as he navigated school and basketball.

Now as a 15-time All-Star, the 36-year-old is creeping up the scoring charts and will end up being amongst the greatest to have ever played in the NBA. Add his Olympics accolades, and Durant has built a legacy that only a rare few could ever match, something he has been grateful for.

For sure. I come from neighborhoods where people don’t even talk to each other. So much hate in the world too. When people get to start laughing and joking for the game of ball, it’s cool to me, so it gets me emotional. The game has saved my life. It brought me and my family out of a lot of bulls**t, so I’m just grateful for it.

This was the Phoenix Suns star talking on Netflix’s teaser for Court of Gould. This docuseries will come out later in the day after Netflix, the NBA and Team USA decided to film it at the Paris Olympics. They knew the likes of Durant, LeBron James and Steph Curry being a part of that game was a chance to make them immortal so that that fans can relive their exploits anytime they want to.

Kevin Durant’s mother reveals how grounded he can be

Kevin Durant is grateful for what the game of basketball has done for him and his family. Coming up in that neighborhood, the two-time NBA Finals MVP has made a name for himself. However, he has also learnt how to stay grounded, as his mother Wanda Durant revealed prior at the All-Star weekend.

The one thing that people don’t know about Kevin, is that Kevin can clean a bathroom.

Wanda Durant said

This answer left the reporter in splits as it is not common for someone of that stature to be cleaning bathrooms. Not especially when one earns more than $50 million a season. But it shows that he knows how to stay grounded.

He understands what has brought him here, which will only help him continue being a legend. But he wants to do it on his own terms as he avoided being traded prior to this past trade deadline. He preferred to stay back in Phoenix rather than again link up with Steph Curry and create an unwanted discourse.
