For someone who is not known to be expressive, it is always a welcome sight whenever Kevin Durant shows that he is having fun. He put up a hilarious celebration as the Houston Rockets avenged their Sunday loss to the Denver Nuggets with a convincing 115-101 victory at the Ball Arena on Saturday night. It was Durant who was the star of the show as he scored a game-high 31 points.

After two consecutive defeats, the Rockets returned to winning ways as the win propelled them to 17-8 as they find themselves at fifth in the Western Conference standings while the Nuggets dropped to third with a 20-7 record.

Kevin Durant has received some criticism after joining the Rockets this offseason, as it is his third franchise since leaving the Golden State Warriors in 2019. But the move to Houston has been promising so far as they remain strong contenders in a stacked Western Conference. Since joining the Rockets, Durant is averaging 25.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and four assists this season.

Leading league MVP candidate Nikola Jokic led the scorers for the Nuggets with 25 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists while his counterpart Alperen Sengun had a rare off-night scoring just eight points.

During the fourth quarter, Nuggets head coach David Adelman was ejected for going at it with the officials and Durant was seen to be enjoying the show. To add fuel to the fire, the two-time NBA Champion drained a three-pointer with 6:30 minutes left and extended the Rockets’ lead to 17.

Durant appears to be having a good time as the Rockets look to mount a challenge. He will be aiming for his third NBA Championship.

Fans react to Kevin Durant’s hilarious celebration

Fans took to the internet as they could not contain their excitement after Durant’s celebration. Here are some of the reactions:

Kevin Durant and Bruce Brown have a heated exchange

While it was all laughs and fun for Durant and the Rockets, a bit of controversy struck between an 18-year NBA veteran and Bruce Brown. The two were former teammates during their time with the Brooklyn Nets.

Losing by a big margin is one thing, but when the opponent starts to rub it in, it can cause some unpleasant reactions, as Brown seemed to be irked by Durant’s celebrations. After the match, Durant was asked about the on-court incident with Brown.

It’s basketball. There ain’t no respect, no love. Everybody enjoyed it, the fans enjoyed the game, Bruce and Tim Hardaway [Jr.] didn’t probably enjoy it. That’s basketball. A lot of people say that’s missing from the game. It was a fun game, glad we got the win.

Durant did not appear to have any grudge towards Brown after the match and did not reveal what was said on the court, but in the end, what happens on the court stays on the court. It was good to see that there were no hard feelings between the two.
