Mario Kasun revealed a racist story about Kevin Garnett

Racism is certainly not a new topic in the NBA. Players have often been accused of being racist towards certain races and groups in the league. Another such story has come to light, but the name of the one involved has shocked NBA fans. Former Croatian player Mario Kasun has accused the Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett of being a racist against white players in the league.

While discussing the topic on the Jaomile Podcast, Kasun shared a story of Kevin Garnett before a game. The Croatian approached his ‘idol’ and asked him to sign his shoes. As Garnett endorsed Adidas at the time, Kasun wanted to get KG’s autograph on his Adidas pair as well. However, Garnett rudely declined and told Kasun he did not have the ‘permit’ to wear the Big Ticket’s shoes.

I politely asked him to sign my shoe, but he just turned around and went away. He was the biggest racist against white players in the NBA.

Not only did Garnett decline to sign the shoes, but he also told Kasun to take them off. As the 44-year-old told the story, the host, Mile Ilic, also stated that he had heard similar stories about KG. Apart from Garnett, Kasun also called out Gary Payton for talking trash to the fans in the stands.

Kasun was disappointed by the treatment from his childhood hero, but the former player revealed that the reason behind it was more serious. The clip quickly went viral on social as fans were in disbelief at the claims. Garnett and his team are yet to respond to Kasun’s serious accusations.

Kevin Garnett paid YouTube to delete Mario Kasun’s dunk

Kasun revealing the shoe story is not the first time the Croatian has called out Garnett. The 44-year-old has had an issue with Kasun for a long time now. Two years ago, on Podcast Inkubator, Kasun disclosed that Garnett once requested to delete his dunk on the superstar.

Kasun only played in the league for two years, but his time with the Orlando Magic was impactful. Even so, the center managed to dunk on his idol while he was a rookie during a regular season game. The play came in the fourth quarter, which was essential for the Magic. However, KG was not happy with the play at all. Kasun talked about the moment on Podcast Inkubator.

We played a pick and roll, and Jammer Nelson gave me a pass. I caught it with a head of steam and banged it on his head. I turned around and went: 'Ahhh!' Steve Francis punched me so hard in the chest I lost air and asked for a sub the next possession...It was removed I think in 2007,2008.

Kasun also mentioned the story recently while talking about the shoe incident. The clip was in fact removed from YouTube until someone re-uploaded it four years ago. Garnett allegedly wanted to clear the evidence as he was at the peak of his performance at the time.
