Randy Orton and Kevin Owens have been building towards an intense showdown. Although they are set to collide at Crown Jewel, The Prizefighter sought the advantage by launching an attack on The Viper last night. Following a stellar main event, Owens snuck into the arena and blindsided Orton with a brutal steel chair assault.
The Viper teamed up with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown to take on Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser. After securing a victory, Orton and Rhodes were celebrating. This was when Owens struck The Viper from behind with a surprise chair shot. The former Universal Champion unleashed a series of chair shots to dismantle the spirits of his former friend before their anticipated clash.
The chaos also gave an opportunity to The Ring General to ambush The American Nightmare from behind. Additionally, The Prizefighter’s ruthless attack has signaled a clear shift in his character, showing he is no longer the same person he was a few months ago. This attack strongly aligns with Triple H’s cautionary words to Orton last week as well.

Ahead of their clash, The Prizefighter had an emotional message to his former friend, revealing the reasons behind his betrayal.
During the Crown Jewel Kickoff Show, Owens confronted Orton, expressing that he had always trusted him. He revealed that The Viper’s choice to side with Cody Rhodes affected him terribly, especially since he had once called him a friend. The Canadian star even claimed that while the fans may not admire The Legend Killer as much, his own admiration for Orton had once been unwavering.
