Kevin Owens doesn’t exactly have many friends on the WWE roster. Therefore, he was dealt with a tough task in hand: finding a tag team partner for his match against A-Town Down Under on the latest episode of SmackDown. Owens introduced “Ricky” who made his way to the ring. KO explained that his first choice couldn’t make it in time due to travel issues. Seconds later, he found out that his partner was in fact, ready to compete.
The Prizefighter proceeded to tell Ricky he didn’t need him anymore and hit a Stunner on him. Further, Owens introduced his tag team partner, Randy Orton, who made his return to SmackDown. Following the show, the former Universal Champion has issued a statement regarding Ricky. KO took to X to not only thank him but to also apologize for the trouble he went through.
Despite only appearing for a few minutes to set up Orton’s return, Ricky managed to become an overnight sensation. In fact, fans demanded justice for him as the topic went viral on social media. For those unversed, Ricky is a professional wrestler and one-half of The Midnight Heat.

Prior to the show, there was speculation regarding Owens’ mystery partner for the night. Although many had already predicted Orton, there was expectation for a special surprise on SmackDown. Nonetheless, R-KO overcame the team of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. With Orton now back on the blue brand, fans cannot wait and see how things unfold for the 14-time World Champion.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton won’t be happy with Cody Rhodes’ decision on SmackDown
The closing shot of the SmackDown season premiere saw Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns joining forces to take down The Bloodline. Despite refusing to do so earlier in the night, Rhodes signed the contract to team with Reigns at Bad Blood. Well, this will most likely not sit well with some people in the locker room.
In particular, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, fought alongside The American Nightmare in his previous battles. Moreover, both former world champions have their issues with Reigns. While Owens has feuded with The Tribal Chief and his faction for four years, Orton was put on the shelf for eighteen months by The Bloodline.
Hence, it won’t be surprising to see the duo confront Rhodes about his shocking decision. Orton and Owens might speak with the Undisputed WWE Champion on next week’s SmackDown.
