The latest heel turn of Kevin Owens over the past few weeks has been a treat to watch. His hate for Cody Rhodes had boiled up so much that he ended up turning on his friend. However, Owens still believes that he is justified in his actions and tried to convince the WWE Universe of the same on the latest episode of SmackDown.
This week’s episode of the blue brand featured a pre-recorded promo by Owens explaining why he was right and that nobody should be on the side of Cody Rhodes. KO then proceeded to play a montage of the Bloodline assaulting him throughout the past few years. Firstly, they threw him off a scaffolding in early 2021. He then went on to face Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble 2021 in a Last Man Standing match. During this bout, the OTC had run him over with a golf cart.
Two years later, at the same show, he was again assaulted by the Samoan faction after being tied to the ropes. For this last event, Rhodes was even present in the building but did not show up to help. However, when Reigns needed a partner at Bad Blood, the WWE Undisputed Champion was the first one by his side. Thus, Owens betrayed and assaulted the American Nightmare later that night in the parking lot after the show had ended.

This pre-recorded video was added as an extension to the promo last week between Rhodes and Owens. As the latter said, these were simply three of the numerous events over the past few years where The Bloodline tried to end his career. Thus, Rhodes deserved everything that was coming to him during their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Kevin Owens seemingly takes a shot at John Cena ahead of his retirement tour
Kevin Owens recently posted a photo of himself walking through the arena wearing a neon green John Cena shirt. In his classic smug tone, the Anti-Christ of professional wrestling claimed to be better than the Hollywood superstar. Many fans wondered if he was calling out the 47-year-old ahead of his retirement tour.

Owens has an extensive history with John Cena in WWE. He made his main roster debut during the Cenation Leader’s United States Championship open challenge. It is worth noting that the Prizefighter was still NXT Champion at this time. He then battered up the wrestling legend and disrespected his title, marking the beginning of their long and personal feud.
I would have been so much better.

These two then went on to have an incredible trilogy of matches over the next few Premium Live Events. In 2022, they had even teamed up to take on The Bloodline. With the 5x WrestleMania main eventer’s retirement tour commencing just a few months from now, fans wonder if they will get to see these two superstars step into the squared circle against each other one last time.
