In an interesting development, it’s been learned that Kevin Owens‘ WWE contract is coming to an end. The Prizefighter previously stated in May that his deal would be up in early 2025. However, it appears like there’s even fewer dates remaining on his current agreement with the company.

Owens made the revelation while speaking to Rich Ucchino of Sports Illustrated. Does that mean Owens is leaving WWE soon? Well, of course if he doesn’t re-sign. But that seems unlikely. The 40-year-old has iterated his urge to remain with WWE on numerous occasions. Back in 2021, the former Universal Champion inked a three-year deal with the Stamford-based promotion. And a couple of years later, he won championship gold in the main event of WrestleMania.

Kevin joined forces with long-term friend Sami Zayn to oust The Usos, thus ending their record-setting title reign spanning over 600 days. But that wasn’t the only time the French-Canadian closed out the night at The Showcase of the Immortals. In fact, in arguably the biggest match of his career, Owens locked horns with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. Even though he lost, Kevin knew his career peaked right there.

Having seen some unprecedented highs in his late 30s, the fans believe Kevin Owens will stay with WWE. In wrestling parlance, there’s a cliché monologue that says, never say never. Things can change at the drop of a hat.

However, the top brass in WWE knows what K.O. brings to the table. In fact, the Chief Content Officer, Triple H, is a known admirer of Owens’ in-ring exploits. So, albeit he hasn’t re-signed just yet, the belief within WWE would be that Kevin will eventually put pen to paper rather than a less-fancied switch to AEW.

Kevin Owens can become a WWE Champion in Berlin this weekend

This Saturday at Bash in Berlin, Kevin Owens will try to wrestle away the Undisputed WWE title from Cody Rhodes. Initially, The Prizefighter was reluctant to face Rhodes for the gold. However, the latter, out of courtesy, bestowed a title shot on Owens for helping him in his years-long saga with The Bloodline.

Now with a lot at stake, Kevin is beginning to brush aside that benevolent side of his that he’s boasted of in recent months. This past week on SmackDown, the Canuck almost turned on Cody.

Owens’ history of stabbing his partners in the back has been all over the place. Rhodes knows it too. Kevin might snap any given day, and The American Nightmare needs to be wary of it.
