For the first time in almost two months, Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens finally met face-to-face on SmackDown. On last night’s show, KO poured his heart out while justifying his recent actions. Owens blamed Rhodes for not only the attack at Bad Blood but also for sending Randy Orton to the hospital. As expected, Owens brought up the trigger point of his heel turn, Roman Reigns.
The Prizefighter claimed that things went south for their friendship when Rhodes decided to team with Reigns. Owens detailed how Reigns and The Bloodline attempted to end his career several times in the past four years. Hence, everything that has transpired, including using the banned Piledriver on Orton, was all Rhodes’ fault.
Owens emphasized that he loved Orton but hated Rhodes. In response, The American Nightmare challenged his former friend to a match. However, Owens was in no mood to fight last night. Instead, the Grand Slam Champion stated that their bout would take place at a time and place of his choosing.

At Bash in Berlin, the 40-year-old star failed to pull the trigger during their bout. Kevin Owens promised that he wouldn’t hesitate this time. Kevin Owens also vowed to cross any lines necessary once he faces the Undisputed WWE Champion.
At the moment, there is no indication as to when that match will take place. A few weeks ago, Dave Meltzer reported that Rhodes vs. Owens was scheduled to headline Saturday Night’s Main Event. As such, Survivor Series will seemingly mark the first PLE without a Cody Rhodes match since Elimination Chamber.
Cody Rhodes got into a backstage altercation with Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown
Following the heated segment, Cody Rhodes walked to the back. On his way out, Rhodes caught Carmelo Hayes talking about how Kevin Owens was right about everything he said. This irked the Undisputed WWE Champion, who aggressively shoved Hayes away.
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis instantly arrived on the scene to separate the two stars. Rhodes then advised Aldis to reevaluate his decision to pick Hayes in the first round of the Draft earlier this year. The latter took offense before storming off from the frame.

Later during the show, WWE announced that Rhodes would face the former NXT Champion on next week’s episode of SmackDown. This won’t mark the first time these two square off, as Hayes lost to Rhodes during the Draft earlier this year.
