The recent boom in professional wrestling has made many mainstream celebrities interested in the product, and they are often spotted in live crowds of WWE’s weekly shows. The latest episode of SmackDown was attended by Matthew McConaughey, who got into a heated confrontation with Kevin Owens.
During the show, Owens climbed up on the announcers’ desk with a microphone in his hand. He turned his attention to McConaughey and started taking shots at him. Furthermore, he asserted that he was going to beat Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble, just like how Ohio State beat the Texas Longhorns.
The former Universal Champion further instigated the American actor to hop over the barricade and fight him. However, they did not engage physically. Later on, McConaughey met The Undertaker backstage and received a Texas Longhorns customized championship belt.

This is not the first time that Owens has called out the 55-year-old. Following Sami Zayn‘s match against Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38, the Prizefighter was asked about which celebrity he would like to face, and Matthew McConaughey was the answer on the tip of his tongue.
Apart from this, several other celebrities have also appeared in WWE in the past few months. Vanessa Hudgens, a huge WWE fan, is often spotted in live crowds and alongside wrestlers. Travis Scott even accompanied Jey Uso to the ring while smoking a blunt, and Kendra Lust has made pitches to bring back the stipulation of a Bra & Panties match.
