Wrestling fans have recently witnessed many stars jump ship to different companies after their contracts expire. Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada both signed with AEW after their NJPW contracts came to an end. However, a wrestler who is not looking to follow this trend is Kevin Owens.

In an interview with Metro UK, Owens talked about the status of his contract and tenure with WWE. The former Universal Champion claimed that he was not taking anything for granted. He revealed that he only had nine months left on his WWE contract. Furthermore, KO admitted that he did know what was going to happen from here on out.

The SmackDown Superstar added that the WWE had been his home for nearly a decade, and it extended beyond the boundaries of the locker room. The Prizefighter mentioned being really close with some special people that he worked with behind the scenes. Therefore, he could not imagine them not being a part of his life anymore.

There's some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I've become very close with, and I really can't imagine not seeing them as part of my life.

His statement comes shortly after several huge names recently announced their re-signing with the WWE. Both Finn Balor and Seth Rollins have re-signed with the WWE in the past month. The Rock also announced that Drew McIntyre had renewed his contract and would be sticking with the Stamford-based company.

During the same interview, Kevin Owens also opened up about the people he had met over his 20+year wrestling career. Some of these included several gems of the pro wrestling industry, such as Brodie Lee, Bray Wyatt, and Jay Briscoe. The wrestling world lost these three superstars at a very young age, which made many fans all over the world, including the former NXT Champion, highly emotional.

After these tragic deaths, the Prizefighter said that he was just taking everything as it came. He added that it was simply how life worked. If there was anything he had learned over the past few years, it was that nothing in life was guaranteed. KO claimed that he had learned this after some very unfortunate events.

If I’ve learned anything over the last few years, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. I’ve learned that through some very unfortunate events, we’ve lost so many good people that was never expected.

The formerly known Kevin Steen added that the wrestling world had lost so many good people when it was least expected. That was simply one example of how he did not take things for granted and how his outlook toward life had changed.
