Kevin Owens and his mystery tag team partner, Randy Orton, defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller in a tag team match. However, before Orton was revealed as his partner, The Prizefighter made numerous efforts to find a partner for himself. After the match, he told The Legend Killer about the challenges he faced in finding a tag team partner backstage on SmackDown.

WWE released a video on X in which Kevin Owens told Randy Orton how he finally found Ricky as his tag team partner. He explained that because The Viper had travel issues and there was a possibility he might not arrive in time, he began looking for other options. Many legends were present in the crowd, including Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Sharmell, Vickie Guerrero, and others.

The former Universal Champion first approached King Booker but noted that Booker was still somewhat upset about a joke he made about Texas years ago. Another legend he approached was RVD, but he also declined, jokingly saying he was “on another planet,” a reference to his past substance use. Thankfully, Orton arrived in time to replace poor Ricky, who had to endure a stunner from an overenthusiastic Owens.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, the match began with The Prizefighter employing some very strategic tactics. During the match, when he desperately needed to tag Orton, he exited the ring and ran to his corner, cleverly tricking his opponents. The duo won the match by hitting a stunner and an RKO on both Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

Rob Van Dam seemed pretty cool with Kevin Owens’ hilarious dig at him

Fans couldn’t stop laughing after Owens made a hilarious jab at Rob Van Dam for always being “high.” However, it seems the Hall of Famer also enjoyed the joke and took no offense. The former WWE Champion shared his reaction on social media.

He took to X and reacted to the video clip of Orton and Owens with an emoji, indicating that he was cool with it. RVD last appeared at the Hall of Fame ceremony earlier this year before WrestleMania XL, where he embraced Paul Heyman during his induction. Interestingly, the legend was also seen smoking something at the ceremony.

Recently, RVD expressed his desire to return to WWE one more time. A fan on social media urged him to come back to the Stamford-based company following John Cena‘s announcement of his retirement tour. He didn’t hesitate to respond and said he liked the idea of returning. Only time will tell what the future holds for him.
