Kevin Owens has made a name for himself by taking dangerous bumps. He has jumped off extreme heights, gone through a lot of tables, and has been hit by various types of weapons across the years. However, the most painful moment of his career came unexpectedly. This occurred during a Hell in a Cell match against Shane McMahon in 2017.

The former Universal Champion recently made an appearance on WWE Retrospective to talk about this moment. During the match, the two competitors found themselves hanging on the exterior of the cell wall. Shane McMahon started kicking and punching his opponent from the side. Owens just expected a few head crashes into the cell wall, and he would then fall backward.

Owens said that the 54-year-old landed four punches right on his kidneys, which turned out to be extremely painful. Eagle-eyed viewers can watch back the footage and even notice him asking his opponent to stop. Eventually, he fell down and was sent crashing into the announcers’ table. According to the Canadian, taking this bump was a breeze as compared to taking the punches.

During the same match, another spot comprised McMahon jumping off the top of the cell onto the Prizefighter, who would be lying on top of the announcers’ table. Sami Zayn was supposed to intervene and pull him off in time. They were very scared that the spot would go wrong and all three of them would get seriously hurt. Thankfully, the spot was executed well.

I was begging him to stop… I thought he was going to break my ribs… I turned to him and go, please stop.

Owens described working with McMahon as a blast, albeit it was very intense. The experience was chaotic and fun. If Shane O’Mac does end up going to AEW as rumored and wrestles in that company, he will surely not hold back on his ludicrous spots.

Kevin Owens gives an update on his son becoming a professional wrestler

Kevin Owens has stated multiple times in the past that his son has had a huge impact on his professional wrestling career. In fact, he recently revealed that his son played a crucial role in his decision to join WWE just so that the young boy could see his father have a match against John Cena.

Thanks to the former Universal Champion, Owen, his son has taken up a significant interest in professional wrestling as well. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Canadian was asked if his son had begun in-ring training. He said that his son is still interested but has not officially trained in any capacity. Owens was also not going to force him into anything.

I started training when I was 14, had my first match at 16, and while I feel pretty great for my age – I am 40 now and have been doing this for 25 years – I probably could have benefited from waiting a few years and starting my career a little later.

Kevin Owens stated that the circumstances under which he began his career were vastly different from what it was going to be for his son. Alongside his own father, the boy will have a lot of people in his life who could help him out. He is still growing up, and neither of them wants to rush into anything.
