This week’s SmackDown focused on whether Kevin Owens would turn his back on Cody Rhodes. It all started with The Grayson Waller Effect, where the Aussie Icon tried to manipulate The American Nightmare about Owens. It resulted in a tag team match pitting A-Town Under against the Prizefighter and the Undisputed WWE Champion in the main event of the show.

The former Universal Champion and Cody Rhodes were successful in picking up the victory. However, following their match, the Canadian Superstar teased a major heel turn. He had the Undisputed title in his hands while he was behind Rhodes. The 40-year-old rushed towards his friend as if he were going to hit him, although he never did. This subtle antic was alarming for Cody as well as the WWE Universe.

Throughout the match, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory were on a mission to form cracks between Owens and Rhodes. During the opening segment of the show, the Prizefighter accidentally hit the 39-year-old, but that seemed fine until the moment in the main event. The two stars are going to clash at Bash in Berlin for the Undisputed Championship, and it seems tensions are rising between them.

Moreover, The American Nightmare recently came out of The Bloodline storyline. He wanted a fresh start and hence chose the Prizefighter as his next challenger. The latter, being on a losing spree, felt embarrassed for receiving such a huge opportunity. As it is speculated, this could eventually become the catalyst for a heel turn down the line. As such, Bash in Berlin is speculated to be the place where Owens might finally snap.

Cody Rhodes talks about wrestling John Cena

John Cena is all set to embark on his retirement tour in 2025. With so many top stars gunning to wrestle him during his last dance, another name has been added to the list. It is the Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes who recently talked about the possibility of wrestling the Cenation Leader in his farewell tour.

Speaking at the Fanatics Fest, the American Nightmare heaped praise on the 16-time World Champion. He said it would be an honor to share a ring with him on his retirement tour. The 39-year-old added that he has learned a lot from the Hollywood star throughout his career, and to witness the end of such an incredible career is a pleasure.

Didn’t realize I was learning so much at the time. It would be the honor of my life to wrestle John Cena in any capacity. He’s the GOAT for a reason.

Furthermore, Rhodes affirmed that he believes that it truly is the finale of Cena’s career. He claimed that the Greatest of All Time always lives up to promises, and if he says it is the end, unfortunately, it is going to be. Only time will tell if the two faces of their generations will cross paths next year or not.
