“She looks furious,” Former World Champion recalls upsetting Stephanie McMahon after headbutting Vince McMahon on TV
In one of the most newsworthy moments of his WWE career, Kevin Owens made Vince McMahon bleed after a heinous beatdown.

Vince McMahon has taken beatings quite a few times on WWE television while he was still with the company. The former WWE Chairman wasn’t a punching bag, and barely a handful of names have laid their hands on the 79-year-old. Kevin Owens is one of them. Back in September 2017, The Prizefighter wiped out the billionaire on national television.
Reminiscing about that moment, Owens went into the details on Chris Van Vliet‘s Insight podcast. As the former Universal Champion mentioned, Vince was constantly talking trash to his face during that segment. McMahon did that on purpose so as to provoke the 40-year-old and ensure that he laid into that headbutt.
Owens did his part and clocked the ex-WWE CEO so badly that he got busted open. The Canuck followed it up with a superkick and a frog splash on McMahon. The latter was gasping for air and even had a litany of officials to check on him. As Kevin was heading backstage, he turned around for a moment while visibly repentant about his actions.
As I turn, Stephanie’s right there in my face and she’s looking at me. She looks furious and she just looks at me and goes, ‘Get the f**k to the back,’ (laughs).

Just then, Stephanie McMahon walked out and got into Owens’ face, and she was pissed off. The Prizefighter told Van Vliet that Steph was furious at him and even yelled, “Get the f**k to the back.” He had no choice but to accede to Daddy’s Little Girl’s marching orders.
But Owens soon brought up the loving side of the former chairwoman of WWE. Kevin added that when he was in his NXT heyday with Triple H running that brand, Stephanie would often come to support Owens and his contemporaries, including Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, etc.
What was Kevin Owens’ mindset going into the Vince McMahon segment?
As mentioned above, Kevin Owens did, indeed, turn the heat on Vince McMahon. Even though The Genetic Jackhammer berated the French-Canadian just enough to tick him off, Kevin was himself planning to give his all on that physical connection with McMahon’s forehead. Because how could he have missed out on getting to beat up his boss? quipped Owens.

At the time, the former Kevin Steen was feuding with Vince’s son Shane McMahon. Vinnie Mac vowed to run Kevin into bankruptcy if he filed a lawsuit against the McMahons as part of the storyline. The erstwhile XFL owner even threatened to fire the Canuck from WWE.
Eventually, McMahon proposed to pit Owens against Shane inside Hell in a Cell. However, before accepting it, The Prizefighter asked Vince to promise him that he’d not terminate his contract if he beat up a McMahon senseless. By doing so, Vince had inadvertently dug himself a hole as the agreement ensued his beatdown. To this day, it remains quite a remarkable WWE moment of the previous decade.
Kevin Owens calls WrestleMania match with Steve Austin his greatest achievement
It’s been over two decades, 25 years to be precise, since Kevin Owens made his pro wrestling debut. He’s been doing this for just that long. The future WWE HOF’er has achieved every single accolade there is to look back on his career and be proud of. However, he’s most grateful for getting to share the ring with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in the main event of WrestleMania 38.

Owens told Chris Van Vliet that it’d forever remain the craziest night of his professional career. Even though he lost, Owens knew it was the biggest moral victory he could’ve ever envisioned. Austin had always advocated for Owens and even agreed to pass on his legendary finisher, the Stone Cold Stunner, to Kevin.

The Quebec-born wrestler revealed that The Texas Rattlesnake had once asked him to work on his promos at a time when Owens was making waves on the indies. In another revelation, the 3x US Champion said that neither he nor Steve was aware of what they were going to do at WrestleMania in Texas until the day of the show. However, the rest, as they say, is history.
