Shedeur Sanders‘ dream of being the quarterback to lead an NFL franchise is coming true, even if there is no guarantee the Cleveland Browns will keep him as the starter after his season.

With Deshaun Watson and his colossal contract still on the books, the Ohio-based franchise might be thinking that it is better to finally get its money’s worth and then see where everything goes. If Sanders does perform well in these next four quite difficult games, he would have done enough to establish a reputation as a quarterback on the rise.

What it will do, if his performances so far have not done it, is to put an end to all the trolls that have so far made him their most important target. Even his head coach, Kevin Stefanski, seems to have come around after not being committed to the Colorado Buffaloes star’s capabilities early in the season.

Shedeur has an ability to make plays off-schedule… A lot of the QBs in the league, and some of the great ones, their ability to make plays off-schedule when the chalk runs out of the chalkboard. It’s a trait that not many people possess

Kevin Stefanski told reporters

From these words, it seems the 43-year-old is smitten by what the quarterback he was seemingly not interested in turned out to be. Either he has seen enough to know that he was wrong.

Or, he is just playing along until next season when Watson will take over as the starter. Browns fans would hope it is the former, as Shedeur Sanders has proved his worth so far.

Ben Johnson has high praise for Shedeur Sanders

Even if one might question Kevin Stefanski‘s sudden praise, there is no doubting the fact that others are noticing Shedeur Sanders’ play. Their next opponent, the Chicago Bears, seems to have at least understood what he brings to the table.

He’s a dangerous player… He’s doing a great job as a rookie… He does a great job of extending the play and creating on his own… Last 3 weeks, you kinda feel a little bit of a spark with Shedeur out there.

Ben Johnson told reporters

The 1st-year head coach has been around the league enough to notice what the Cleveland Browns are able to do with the Texas native leading the charge.

Ben Johnson believes the time spent on the sidelines during the initial part of the season seems to have helped Sanders, as he has seemingly used those learnings to his benefit.

It seems rival head coaches are taking note of how the Browns have changed since the rookie took over. Even if his team is the underdog in their remaining 4 games, they know Shedeur Sanders can turn the tables.

Shedeur Sanders credits Deion Sanders for being ‘in his ear’

As Shedeur Sanders gets ready to play out his rookie year as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, reporters asked him how much his father’s guidance helped him.

During the game, I always hear his voice… His expectation for me is the highest. That’s where playing for him my whole life made it easy to play anywhere else… He’s hard on me.

Shedeur Sanders replied

The 23-year-old gave his flowers to his father for constantly working with him on how to improve his game. Even after his 1st win in the NFL, Deion Sanders pulled him to the side and was seen telling him where to focus on before his next game.

Now that the Colorado Buffaloes’ season is over, the Hall of Famer might be ever more present at his son’s games, looking for what he can do to continue developing into a franchise quarterback.
