Khabib Nurmagomedov denies Dana White’s comeback claims says, ‘I have no competitive interest’
The undisputed UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov refutes all the claims of his comeback in the Octagon. Khabib is currently ranked number one pound-for-pound fighter and the promotion is not willing to strip the title from ‘The Eagle’ and it is still hopeful that he will return to take his streak to 30-0.
The UFC President Dana White says at Contender Series, “I told you guys that I think he’s gonna go to 30-0, If he’s still testing, why the hell would you want to test if you’re not gonna fight”. He also added, “He hasn’t committed, but I feel like he’s gonna. I’m not really pushing him”.
“We talked about it and he just fought. Let him take some time, spend some time with his family, spend the holidays. There’s no rush.” ‘The Eagle of Dagestan’ on the other hand has no intention to return back to the Octagon as he promised his mother that he will not compete without his father ever again.
Khabib has no plan for a comeback
‘The Eagle’ Khabib is committed that he has moved on and he will not ever again. In his latest interview, he says “You can fight until you’re 40 but there should be a goal, I had a goal to reach the summit and I got there. Further, I have no competing interest.”
“Next year I will graduate. I’d like to build on my thesis, do a master’s course, dedicate more time to studying, I’ve bought sheep, I tend to my farm. I’d like to develop in this field a little. I have the bull calves out to feed, I have cows.”
“I would like to take part in a place where I can bring a benefit; it doesn’t have to be big politics. Right now I can bring a benefit without being a politician, and that’s enough for me.”
