Controversies and UFC fighters often go hand in hand. Every year, something unforeseen always happen to the athletes. This time, it was Dagestani icon Khabib Nurmagomedov, who found himself in a disappointing situation. The incident comes just around a week before ‘The Eagle’ corners Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311.

Khabib Nurmagomedov faced numerous controversies in 2024. This ranged from tax incident, getting his bank account frozen and being investigated for Dagestani terror attack links. Although the former UFC champion has put these incidents behind him proving his innocence, a new controversy rose in the form of a flight incident. The UFC legend was asked to either change his seat or get escorted off the plane.

The flight attendant initially asked Nurmagomedov if he could assist in the case of emergencies as he sat near the Emergency Exit row. At first, the UFC legend didn’t understand. Later, he replied that he could help as the attendant’s manager came to speak with ‘The Eagle.’ The flight attendant deemed that Nurmagomedov was doubtful to assist in case of an emergency.

The manager asked Nurmagomedov to move to an identical seat, but ‘The Eagle refused. He claimed it was not fair and repeated that it was his seat. The flight supervisor eventually arrived and escorted Nurmagomedov off the plane. Soon, his friends who had joined him also decided to leave the flight. It is believed that the Dagestani fighter boarded a flight from Las Vegas to California for UFC 311.

The video of Khabib Nurmagomedov getting kicked off the plane went viral as soon as it happened. Many of the MMA fans are upset over how the flight crew treated the UFC legend. The entire incident could have been avoided is what the fans think after witnessing the video.

Others asked Nurmagomedov to fly in private jets as he remains one of the richest UFC fighters in history. It remains to be seen if Nurmagomedov sues the airline for potential harassment based on racial profiling.
