‘Khabib Nurmagomedov is the baddest motherf****r on the planet’ says Dana White
The UFC President Dana White is very well aware of this fact that there is no one like Khabib Nurmagomedov in UFC and in the upcoming years there’s maybe anyone to match his level of greatness. After taking his unbeatable streak to 29-0 at UFC 254 in a fight against Justin Gaethje, where he forced him to tap out in the second round of the fight, he reached another level of greatness.
The Russian champion announced his retirement after this fight and this shocked the world. Dana White doesn’t want Khabib to go because he is still in his prime but he can’t do anything as the champ already made his mind that there is no fighting for him without his father again.
At the UFC 254 post-fight press conference Dana White said, “He is the baddest motherf**ker on the planet, “Let’s start with there’s like a feeling out process for two minutes and then it’s on. Those two were going. The pressure that Khabib puts on you is unbelievable. Literally didn’t respect his punching power. Just walked right into everything and did what he wanted.”
“When he started to go for the armbar in the first round, I’m like ‘oh my god he’s going to try to pull off an armbar. Then the second round, he keeps the pressure on. For that submission, he locks it up, gets it, and chokes him out. Unbelievable.”
Khabib was suffering from an injury stepping in this fight
Dana White later revealed that Khabib was also suffering from an injury as he stepped in the ring to fight Justin Gaethje. He says, “What this guy’s been through, we’re all lucky we got to see him fight tonight, I’m hearing rumors of other things that I didn’t know about that you guys will hear about when he comes out later I’m sure.”
“Apparently, he was in the hospital, He broke his foot. Three weeks ago. So he has two broken toes and a bone in his foot that’s broken or something like that. That’s what his corner was telling me. Never told anybody, walking around. I mean he is one of the toughest human beings on the planet.”
White also has no doubt about Khabib being one of the greatest UFC fighters. He says, “He is the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world, and you seriously have to start putting him up there at GOAT status with whoever else you think is the GOAT”.
For Khabib fans it was a night to remember as he took the winning streak to 29-0 but “The Eagle” will be missed for sure in the Octagon.
