Khabib Nurmagomedov who retired after beating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, recently confirmed that he has ‘officially retired’. However, this was not the case after UFC 254, as there were a plethora of speculations that he would comeback, with UFC President Dana White extremely eager to persuade him on coming back. All these speculations were laid to rest, earlier this week.

Khabib sat down with Megan Olivi after UFC Fight Night : Brunson vs Holland, to discuss his post-retirement plans. ‘The Eagle’ felt that he had nothing left to prove in the UFC, since he has dominated all the opponents he has taken on. However, he assured that he would still be around the cageside, supporting his brothers and cousins who are still a part of the UFC.

Khabib was quoted as saying, “I have some business projects. I’m gonna make money. I’m gonna enjoy my life. I have kids. I have my brothers, they’re still fighting in the UFC, I’m gonna support them. Next week my brother Abubakar [Nurmagomedov] is gonna fight. June or July, Islam [Makachev] has his first main event in the UFC. He’s gonna fight, he has a 7 fight win streak, next year he is gonna be the next contender in the lightweight division. I have my cousin Umar, he just won one fight in the UFC. He is undefeated 13-0.” [H/T FirstSportz]

He continued, “I’m gonna support them. I’m gonna be very close to UFC. I’m gonna be around guys, I’m not going to let you guys miss me! But, I don’t feel like going inside the cage and fighting again, I’ve already fought 29 times.” [H/T FirstSportz]

Will Khabib be as successful in post-retirement life as he was during his UFC tenure?
