Khabib Nurmagomedov posts Novak Djokovic’s highlight, shows huge support for tennis star after his detention in Australia
Novak Djokovic- Khabib Nurmagomedov
Former UFC Lightweight Champion and now Eagle FC owner Khabib Nurmagomedov is a fan of many sports and it seems besides MMA and football, tennis comes right after those two. In this case, Khabib was recently seen sharing a highlight of Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic on Instagram, however, as a gesture of support for the latter’s recent visa debacle.
It has been more than a year now since Khabib has retired and has been doing wonders since removing his fighter’s cap and wearing promoter’s one. It was a month after his retirement when Khabib brought Eagle FC and started organising multiple events in Russia. By the end of 2021, Khabib announced some big moves for Russia that set up a new level for his promotion and hence signed multiple ex-UFC fighters such as Kevin Lee and Rashad Evans.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s reason for supporting Novak Djokovic on recent Austrailian visa debacle
Djokovic is one of those people who is against vaccine mandates, and therefore he prepared to make a formal “medical exemption” when he would come to Australia for the Australian Open. Unfortunately, Djokovic failed to meet the pandemic requirements as his “medical exemption” was unqualified and therefore was detained in Australia itself. Since then, Djokovic’s fans have rallied outside the detention facility he is in, the Siberian Prime Minister has evoked a “political witch hunt” and the religious leader of Siberia has preached for a nationwide prayer.
As of now, Djokovic has come out in response of the situation thanking the fans from all over the world for whatever is happening to him in Australia. In these times, Khabib decided to step up and express his support through the medium of social media. What are your thoughts on Djokovic’s detention and how do you see the situation of resistance to vaccine mandates affecting the political forum worldwide? It seems like the growing number of vaccine sceptic people will pull off new phases in the times of pandemic.
