Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, is almost upon us and the MMA world is already on tenterhooks. The 28-0 Khabib will be aiming for another walk in the park when he faces “The Highlight”,although Khabib will be wary of the American’s immaculate striking and grappling abilities.

The verbal exchanges between the two fighters have begun heating up, with Khabib recently stating in an interview that, in no way he’ll be similar to Justin’s previous opponent, Tony Ferguson.

“I’m not gonna stand with him” – Khabib

Speaking to Real Quick with Mike Swick Podcast, Khabib said, “I think he knows and I know that if you fight with a wrestler like we have so much pressure, that you can’t just come in the middle of the cage and make a crazy fight. Because the wrestler gonna take you down. You have to move.”

Fighters usually never reveal a hint of their playing strategy prior to their fight. But Khabib, didn’t bother one bit talking about his fight plan ahead of his bout with Gaethje. Speaking of which, Khabib said, “For this fight I think he’s gonna use a lot of footwork, jab, stay away from me. Same thing as with Tony Ferguson, because Tony Ferguson he likes pressure too. I think with me it’s gonna be the same thing but one thing has changed – I am not Tony Ferguson.

Khabib, who is known for his unbelievable ground skills, also said that he would be using every skill known to him while facing Gaethje. “I’m not gonna stand with him. I am gonna give him everything that I have in my MMA skill. Like punching, kicking, pressure, wrestling, take him down, give him ground and pound, you know. You have to be ready for everything,” Khabib said.
