Khamzat Chimaev favourite over #3 Leon Edwards to win at UFC Vegas 17
With just three fights in, Chimaev remains undefeated in the Welterweight division. He has been climbing up the ladder of the division looking to secure high ranked fights and make a name for himself. One of those fights includes a matchup against Leon Edwards who is rank #3 in the Welterweight division at UFC Vegas 17 on December 19th, 2020.
Experts see this fight going in favour of the less experienced Khazmat Chimaev with an impressive record of 9 wins and zero losses whereas the more experienced Leon Edwards has a little more than double the number of fights with 18 wins and 3 losses.
The hype train of Khazmat Chimaev
Chimaev has picked up a good fan following with just three fights in a span of just two months and looks to secure more wins in the UFC. He has three very impressive performances which make him highly favoured in this upcoming bout against Edwards.
So far, with an impressive debut at 185 pounds, a win at Welterweight in the next ten days after his win and bumping up to Middleweight to cleanly finish Gerald Meerschaert in just 17-seconds proves that he is not all about hype and worth placing your money on.
Leon Edwards is not to be overlooked either, the fighter has 8 consecutive wins after losing to Kamaru Usman on a unanimous decision in 2015. He has fought notable fighters and walked out victorious. His win streak has been challenging and though this may be the biggest challenge to keep his streak going, he still looks to win this fight and move on.
Edwards has not stepped into the Octagon in over a year but will this play a role in determining his fight? While he can only hope he made use of his time off, he must secure a win to move higher and closer to the belt.
