The UFC middleweight division has been the one of most entertaining in the last few years. The weight class is filled with killers trying to get inside the octagon against each other. Currently, the ongoing rivalry between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland has remained the talk of the town ahead of UFC 312.
Chimaev and Strickland, once training partners at Xtreme Couture MMA, have since developed a heated rivalry filled with insults. Their relationship, once built on mutual respect, has deteriorated over time, leading to frequent clashes on social media. While recalling their past sparring sessions, Chimaev took the opportunity to mock Strickland, further fueling tensions between the two fighters.

Strickland lost to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312. Throughout the build-up, he has repeatedly fired personal remarks on the ‘Borz.’ The ‘Tarzan’ mocked Chimaev for his relationship with Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov. Apart from that, the American has also used Chimaev’s crypto scam incident to question his loyalty to fight fans.

Khamzat Chimaev, however, sees Strickland as a someone who lacks his mindset and competitive mentality. In response to Strickland’s attacks, Chimaev has mocked his childhood trauma and the emotional moment he had on a podcast. This ongoing feud has kept fans eagerly anticipating a potential middleweight title showdown between the two.

Sean Strickland has always been a loudmouth and his unfiltered personality has helped him earn millions of fans. The American fighter doesn’t care about consequences, and has had beef with many MMA fighters. Recently, he was in hot waters for making fun of Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s religion.
Against Khamzat Chimaev, the bad blood is quite serious, and Strickland remains confident about winning against the ‘Borz’. Chael Sonnen recently talked about the back-and-forth between both fighters. The veteran, however, pointed out an interesting aspect of the ongoing drama.
Chimaev had been very aggressive going at Sean. But I don’t know if anything Chimaev had to say to Dricus. I don’t know anything that Dricus had to say to Chimaev. Like, it does kind of appear that Chimaev while we think is the number one contender more over is aligning himself with Strickland.

Going into UFC 312, Dricus Du Plessis was the betting favorite, and Strickland did have the capacity to pull off an upset. However, he couldn’t overcome the champion. Previously, Chimaev had predicted DDP to win against Strickland. If things go that way, it would be interesting to see whether he fights for the title or continues his grudge fight against Strickland.
