In another clip, the player is all smiles as he waltzed around the dressing room in Ronaldo’s jersey. Georgia book Round of 16 spot with a win for the ages

Georgia are ranked 74th on FIFA’s official website. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and his men were the lowest ranked side coming in to the Euros. Despite the odds being stacked against their favor, Georgia have done the unthinkable and booked a spot in the Round of 16. It only took Kvaratskhelia two minutes to fire his side into the lead with an exceptional left-footed finish from close range. A brilliant defensive display coupled with the belief that no side is impossible to defeat, Georgia went on to bag their second goal of the game. Antonio Silva‘s late tackle on Luka Lochoshvili resulted in the referee awarding a penalty for the men in red after a lengthy consultation with VAR.

The spot kick that followed was put to bed with commendable confidence by Georges Mikautadze. Surprisingly, Mikautadze became the first person at the Euros to bag three goals. Following the win, Georgia will take on tournament favorites Spain on the 2nd of July. Kvaratskhelia and co. etched their names in history becoming the first Georgian side to make it to the knockouts of a major tournament.
