Caitlin Clark has the biggest fan base of any women’s professional athlete in the world currently. Her millions of fans span all age groups and genders, as they have all been enthralled by the way she plays basketball.
Her humble nature has seen fans gravitate towards her as they see an athlete who garners worldwide fame but does not have the ego that most athletes display once they become famous.
She is also great with children, as has been evident by the way she is around her teammates or the coach’s kids. The 23-year-old is naturally at ease with them, engaging with them before and after games, even when she is not playing.
The superstar decided to partner with Eli Lilly, the pharmaceutical company that is raising awareness about health and nutrition. As part of their collaboration, they recorded a video titled, ‘Back to School with Lilly.’
In the video, Caitlin Clark is seen speaking with children, where some sit down for a 1-to-1 session with the Indiana Fever star and ask questions. 15-year-old Michelle asked the point guard what the ‘hardest truth’ was for her both as a basketball player and a person.
I’m so competitive and so emotional at times, like that can be really hard… You accept that you’re a very emotional person, and that’s good. That’s why I’m probably good at basketball is because I’m fiery, and I’m competitive… Learning how to channel that and use it in the right moments has probably been something I’ve had to navigate over the course of my career.

After answering this question, the Iowa native remarked that this was one of the hardest questions she had ever been asked, and dapped up Michelle while praising her for asking that question.
6-year-old teaches Caitlin Clark a new animal
Another child, 6-year-old Luke, was among those who could ask questions to Caitlin Clark. When it was his turn, the bespectacled Luke asked the Fever star what her favorite animal was.

She replied that other than dogs, she likes the Cheetah, as it is a fast and sneaky animal, possibly referring to the way she runs around on court and dishes out sneaky passes that leave her opposition baffled.
Then the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year asks Luke what his favorite animal is. When he replies that he likes Basilisk Lizards, she could not tell if that was a special type of lizard. To this, the boy replied:
It’s one of the only lizard that can run on water.
Luke replied
This answer left the Iowa native surprised, as she did not know anything about that type of lizard. Clark then admitted she learned something new and high-fived him.
Caitlin Clark convinces an 11-year-old to eat broccoli
Since this was a collaboration between Caitlin Clark and Lilly, the meetup with children was focused mostly on health and how sports factor into it. When 11-year-old Aniyah asked the Fever star to be honest about whether she liked vegetables.
I actually do. I like vegetables, I’m not even lying. But my mom said the same thing when I was your age. So my favorite vegetable is probably broccoli.
Caitlin Clark replied
Hearing this, the girl dropped her shoulders, disappointed at Clark’s take on her favorite vegetable. Seeing her reaction, the injured guard went on to convince her that broccoli is good and that the 11-year-old should try eating it.
After the question and answer sessions, the Fever guard helped the kids shoot the basketball, encouraging them to move closer to the basket whenever they missed. This adds another effort from the All-WNBA 1st Teamer, who has already worked with schools in her hometown of Des Moines to help children get books and backpacks before starting school.
