Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan has been an enigma or a marvel to lots of people and his presence anywhere always comes with its own special kind of aura. His recent presence at the Hall of Fame induction of Vince Carter did just that when he met Carter’s kids.

Vince Carter made a recent appearance on the show ‘Run It Back’ where he shared the reaction from his kids when they met the legend himself, Michael Jordan. And kids being kids, had an unfiltered response when they came face to face with the NBA’s GOAT.

My kids, my family in general wanted to meet Mike. So I said, ‘Let’s go over here and meet Mike.’ Then I introduce him to everyone.’ Meet my kids. So lil man says to big sis. She was like ‘uhm, dad he’s darker than I expected’… And then he got to see Mike live and I was like that’s why they call him Black Jesus… That was kinda the highlight of Saturday.

Carter, who was announced as part of the 2024 Hall of Fame class in April, shares a connection with Jordan as they both played for the same college team at North Carolina. While Carter is a new inductee, Jordan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

Carter’s career saw him earn eight All-Star selections, the 1999 Rookie of the Year award, and two All-NBA team honors. As part of his Hall of Fame induction celebrations, Carter will also have his jersey retired by the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets during the 2024-25 season.

Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, and Jozy Altidore in talks to acquire minority stake in Buffalo Bills

Other than basking in his Hall of Fame status, Vince Carter is set to team up with Tracy McGrady and Jozy Altidore to buy minority stakes in the Buffalo Bills, according to a report from Sportico. These athletes, all icons of Toronto sports, could bring a distinctly Canadian connection to the NFL team.

The deal will see Carter and McGrady, who are both former Toronto Raptors standouts, and Altidore, a former Toronto FC forward, become part of a group that are looking to invest in the Bills. The deal will see them revive ties between Buffalo and Toronto, which was last seen during the Bills Toronto Series from 2008 to 2013.

Financially, it won’t be an issue as McGrady earned $162.9 million and Carter made $172.5 million during their time in the league. If the deal goes through, it will see them join a long list of former basketball players that own stakes in sports franchises.
