Kike Hernandez is back. On Thursday, the player himself announced that he had re-signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Following this, he would send a three-peat message to the fans.

The 34-year-old is one of the fan favorites. Last season, he had re-signed with the team on a one-year deal. In 2024, he did the same and came back to the Dodgers on a short-term one-year deal.

Hernandez has played his part in the team’s back-to-back World Series success. In the regular season, the utility man smashed 10 home runs and 35 RBIs while batting with a .203 average in 93 games. He also made some relief appearances and played as the pitcher after being put on the mound by Dave Roberts.

In the postseason, the 34-year-old batted with a .250 average in 17 games while hitting 1 home run. He also showed off his defensive capabilities with an important game-ending double play in Game 6 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the Spring Training around the corner, he is back with the Dodgers for another stint. In a post on his social media account, the 3-time World Series winner announced his return even before the Dodgers made it official.

What else did we expect? 3 in a row has nice ring to it. #WeBack

He would later share an audio message with the fans. In a short clip, the Dodgers’ No.8 claimed there was no other place he would rather be and dropped a three-peat message.

I’m back… again! Sorry it took so long, that wasn’t up… Andrew. There’s no other place I would rather be than here, let’s go for 3 in a row.

The Dodgers are looking to become the 3rd different team in MLB history to three-peat the World Series title. So far, only the New York Yankees (3 times) and the Athletics (while being in Oakland) have won the World Series in three or more seasons.

A few hours before officially announcing the return of Hernandez, the Dodgers revealed that they had extended the contract of Max Muncy. Days after the World Series, the team had picked up his $10 million club option and brought him back for the 2026 season.

On Thursday, the team extended his contract. In a post on X, they revealed coming to an agreement with Muncy over a one-year contract extension for $10 million guaranteed. This includes a guarantee $7 million salary for the 2027 season and a $10 million club option for 2028.

In the regular season, Muncy smashed 19 home runs and had 67 RBIs while batting with a .243 average in 100 games. In the postseason, he hit 3 home runs with one of them coming in Game 7.

With the Dodgers 4-2 down in the 8th inning against the Toronto Blue Jays, Muncy hammered a towering shot in right field against Trey Yesavage to make it a 4-3 game. Following his shot, the Dodgers levelled it up with an unlikely home run from Miguel Rojas in the 9th inning before winning the game and the series in the 11th inning through a solo home run from Will Smith.
