The Los Angeles Dodgers are still going strong in the offseason. After signing some top names, they have reportedly brought back another veteran star. As per reports, they have re-signed utility Enrique ‘Kike’ Hernandez on a one-year deal.

The 33-year-old was one of the stars who left the team and became a free agent following the 2024 World Series triumph. A few weeks ago Teoscar Hernandez, who re-signed with the Dodgers on a $66 million deal, admitted that he had been ‘praying to god’ for the Dodgers to bring back Kike Hernandez.

It seems his prayers have been answered. The Dodgers and Hernandez have agreed on a one-year deal. However, more details regarding this deal have not been revealed yet.

Just like last time, Hernandez himself was the first one to break the news of this deal. Taking to his X account, he would share a video montage of the Dodgers’ 2024 season with a four-word message.

In another tweet, Hernandez would share a clip of the Marvel character ‘Thanos’ putting the Mind Stone to complete the Infinity Gauntlet from the movie Avengers: Infinity Wars. This was perhaps done to hilariously signal that the Dodgers are assembling stars like the Avengers in the MCU.

Following a six-year spell with the Dodgers from 2015 to 2020, Hernandez would leave them. He returned to the National League side in 2023 after spending time with the Boston Red Sox. After the 2023 season, he re-signed with the Dodgers on a $4 million deal.

He made a slow start to the 2024 season. After being diagnosed with astigmatism in his right eye he started wearing sunglasses in the second half of the campaign. This saw him improve his stats and batted with a .294/.357/.451 slash line in the postseason, collecting 15 hits and hitting 2 home runs.

One former Dodgers star who still remains a free agent is 3-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw. The veteran southpaw has signaled his intention to re-sign with them. However, with him unlikely to play in the first half of the season, there are questions rising whether the team will go for him or not in this offseason.
