“They need a shakeup!” – Kings losing their 5th consecutive game has Sacramento fans worried
The Sacramento Kings have witnessed one of their poor run of form lately in the NBA since the 2021-22 season.
De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk
Things have not gone well lately for the Sacramento Kings in the 2024-25 NBA season. After making a promising start, many hoped that the Kings would put up a strong case in a bid to secure a playoff spot this season. However, their recent performances have not been up to the mark, with their most recent loss coming against the Detroit Pistons.
The Kings’ recent struggles were perfectly summed up in Thursday’s shocking 114-113 loss to the Detroit Pistons. They have failed to maintain significant leads. Also, they are not able to focus on crucial details and make plays in the closing seconds. In addition, the Kings were mocked by the enthusiastic home crowd at Golden 1 Center for the second straight game.
This demonstrates how terrible things have gotten lately. As per TheDunkCentral on X, they have lost 5 consecutive games in the NBA. The Kings’ five straight losses mark their worst run since a seven-game losing streak in the 2021–22 NBA season. Out of all the heartbreaking defeats this season, this one has hurt their fans the most.

At one point, Trey Lyles made a pivotal three-pointer with just over eight minutes remaining. This gave the Kings a dominating 19-point lead and a 98-83 advantage. But like a sputtering engine, the Kings’ offense shivered to a deadlock. This led to head coach Mike Brown watching his team go over three minutes without scoring. With this loss, the Kings are now 12th in the West and are on a 13-18 record.
Fans left disappointed with the Sacramento Kings’ poor run of form in the NBA
Despite having the likes of DeMar DeRozan, De’Aaron Fox, and Malik Monk on their side, the Sacramento Kings have failed to win their last 5 NBA matches. Their most recent loss came against the Detroit Pistons, leaving the Kings fans frustrated on home court. Kings’ head coach Mike Brown stated that his side needs ‘to cultivate some mental toughness’ after the game.
Many Kings fans took to various social media apps to put forward their frustration regarding their side’s poor form in the league. One fan wrote on X, “It’s a morale issue, the Kings need a shake-up,” while another fan wrote on X, “Still got time to turn it around… but tonight was a big letdown.” Check out some of the reactions below:

Blowing 14pt lead in the 4th and losing in the last possession when you’re up 3pts today is the nail in the coffin

Time to blow it up and trade Fox to the Lakers
As an Honest Kings fan I think it’s time we trade Fox to Houston and rebuild again.

The Kings lost by a score of 24–13 in the final five and a half minutes, which was a miserable finish. De’Aaron Fox had a poor closeout that led to a foul on Jaden Ivey. He not only made the jumper when the Kings were leading by 3 points, but also sank the succeeding free throw to end the Kings’ hopes at the Golden 1 Center.
