Never write off Kirk Cousins. The Atlanta Falcons veteran quarterback rolled back the years as he took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night’s prime-time game.

Cousins shattered the Falcons’ single-game passing yards record by some distance, a milestone previously held by Matt Ryan, who was inducted into the Falcons Ring of Honors before kickoff. With Ryan in attendance, Cousins lodged 42 of 58 for an unbelievable 509 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.

Cousins led the game-winning drive during overtime. He found KhaDarel Hodge for a 45-yard touchdown to secure a 36-30 victory. After the game, Prime’s pitch-side reporter Taylor Brooks caught the four-time Pro Bowler enjoying the win when she asked him for ‘swag surfin.’

Cousins apparently wasn’t too familiar with the steps, so Brooks helped him. The 36-year-old started waving with the song created by the famous Atlanta hip-hop group Fast Life Youngstaz.

When Cousins joined the Amazon Prime panel for a post-match talk, he thanked Brooks for teaching him the ‘swag surfin.’

Taylor Brooks is a great teacher. I love it, I love the environment, and I love the nest in this quarter. The way that they played it in the fourth quarter, it gets the blood flowing.

Including the Bucs’ win, Cousins now has 1373 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions from 119 completions so far this season. Up next, the Falcons will travel to Charlotte and play the Carolina Panthers.
