One of India’s most consistent and reliable batsmen KL Rahul turns 29 years old today. Starting off as a promising youngster, the wicketkeeper-batsman has gone from strength to strength to establish himself as one of India’s best batsmen. At present, he is a part of the squad for all three formats although he is not being considered for the playing XI in the Test format. He is also India’s second vice-captain in the limited overs format.
Rahul has also been one of the best performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in recent times. He bagged the Orange Cap for being the highest run-scorer last season and is the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS). In this year’s IPL, Rahul got off to an excellent start with a 91 in the first match before getting unfortunately run out in the second match. His side will face Delhi Capitals today in the IPL and Rahul would want to mark his 29th birthday with a win.
