Victor Wembanyama faced two embarrassing situations in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. On one hand, he struggled in the second half, which enabled the New York Knicks to stage a comeback and win.
Anyone just looking at stat sheets would think that the Frenchman had a decent game. 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks are not something players manage to do easily.
But then, when one looks at game footage, they realize that the 7’4″ center struggled mightily in the second half. Not only was he out of breath, but his defense was not there to stop the Knicks from taking over.
That comes to the second embarrassing situation for Wembanyama. After the loss and the post-game press conference where he relayed his thoughts about what he felt, it was time to head back to their hotel.
The only problem is that fans were aware of where the Spurs were staying. Knicks fans have been hurling boos and taunts at them both before Games 3 and 4. But this time, some of them took it a step further.
This is disgusting… The fools who did it, not only do I wish they knew who it was and they get arrested, I wish they get their a** kicked. Because see, it’s real brave to do something like that when you’re surrounded by a whole bunch of people that nobody knows who you are.

The 58-year-old made it clear that those fans who threw eggs at Victor Wembanyama should be arrested and given a thrashing, as it was a disrespectful move that should not be how Knicks fans are portrayed.
Stephen A. Smith dismisses Knicks fans throwing eggs at Victor Wembanyama as true New Yorkers
After addressing what those New York Knicks fans should get coming their way for throwing eggs at Victor Wembanyama, Stephen A. Smith then moved on to branding them as not being true fans or citizens of the city.

Those stupid fans, the couple of people who did that, they don’t represent New York Knicks fans. Most New Yorkers would never do something like that… There are always a few fools who hide behind crowds… so you can be the kind of punk that would do something like that. It’s wrong, it’s unfortunate.
Stephen A. Smith said
The ESPN analyst referenced Russell Westbrook speaking in the past about fans taunting them while amongst other people. That is not something they would do if the said fan was face-to-face with the athlete.
That is exactly what happened in this situation. Smith believes the fans who threw eggs at Victor Wembanyama did so while hiding behind a crowd of people they did not know. That way, they can get away with not being identified.
He reiterated to his First Take colleagues that it is not how true New Yorkers are, and that these so-called Knicks fans should learn from Spurs fans and those of other teams, as they are nothing but class personified.
Police are searching for those who egged Victor Wembanyama
The situation of eggs being thrown in Victor Wembanyama’s direction after Game 4 has become an embarrassment for the City of New York and the Knicks.
As of right now, the New York Police Department has not made any arrests… Their hotel for games 3 and 4 was located just about a 5-block radius from MSG.

This means that the NYPD is actively searching for the individuals who performed this act. They may not have made arrests yet, but for the sake of the competition and the NBA, it would be good if the department catches these perpetrators and makes an example of them.
