Karl-Anthony Towns tries his best to stay focused during games. That focus is extremely important when a certain Draymond Green, who is known for his unsettling antics, plays against the New York Knicks.
As the New York Knicks’ de facto No. 2, he is also going to be subjected to some unnerving tactics from opposition players, as the smartest ones try to unsettle their opponents’ top players.
The problem for the New York Knicks is that they are already in the midst of their worst run of games in a month. The Golden State Warriors knew that their January 15th home game could turn into a cakewalk if they kept their cool.
After all, it is easier to unsettle a frustrated team. It seems Draymond Green knew that, and after bullying Karl-Anthony Towns for most of the night, one instance blew the lid off this game.
Early in the fourth quarter, as the Warriors’ star lost his footing and crashed onto the floor, he reached out with one hand to try to poke the ball out, while using his other to trip Towns.
After the game, Mike (Brown) was seen hugging Draymond Green… From what I understand, that didn’t land well with a lot of folks there in New York.

This was the journalist’s finding when she dug deep into the New York Knicks’ troubles. It seems the organization did not appreciate Green hugging his former coach, Mike Brown, especially after what Brown had done earlier to their star player.
Jalen Brunson called a Knicks players’ only meeting
The loss to the Golden State Warriors was only one of the nine out of eleven games the New York Knicks have lost since the last day of 2025.

Jalen Brunson called a players’ only meeting, and said, ‘Guys, we gotta stop looking to the coaching staff for answers, we gotta stop looking elsewhere. The answers to what is wrong with us right now are right in this locker room. We gotta look in the mirror.’
Ramona Shelburne said
This was the ESPN senior writer’s revelation when host Malika Andrews asked about what transpired after Brunson was seen yelling at his teammates during their latest loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The star point guard reiterated after the game to reporters that his team needed to do a lot of ‘soul searching’ after struggling this badly, prompting Knicks fans to boo loudly at Madison Square Garden.
Ramona Shelburne felt the team was looking for answers within, as many saw something off in the players’ chemistry.
Knicks players want to make it work
Whenever a team has frustrated players in its locker room, it looks to either fire the head coach or trade players identified as the cause of this mess.
What I have heard is they gotta make this work.
Ramona Shelburne said
This means the Knicks players are hoping to work within themselves to figure out what is wrong and what needs to change among them, if they are to return to playing winning basketball.

After all, this same group posted a 23-9 record before their current eleven-game rut started. That means if they can figure it out, this same group can resume winning games.
Shelburne reiterated that the group must solve their problem before it is too late, as there is a danger that the New York Knicks could slide down to a play-in spot if this losing streak continues. This was supposed to be the year of ‘championship or bust.’ The month of January has indicated that they may be trending towards the latter.
