The rise of the WNBA in recent years has been on another level. One of the main reasons for the rise of WNBA has been the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant’s greatness and dedication to the sport of basketball have been a motivation to everyone. It’s been four years now since the world of basketball lost Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant in a plane crash. WNBA star Caitlin Clark was a die-hard Bryant fan and looked up to him during his playing days.

Recently during the WNBA All-Star game, it was seen by the fans that Caitlin Clark wholesomely greeted the Bryant family. Clark was also seen wearing a pair of Kobe’s for her first All-Star game as a tribute to Bryant. During the halftime of the All-Star game, Clark approached Vanessa Bryant and her family and had a chat, even playing with them for a bit.

It was really a heartwarming sight for basketball fans all around the world. Kobe Bryant was known in the league for his strict work ethic and winning mentality. He was also an advocate for the support of women’s basketball.

Clark was playing in her first All-Star game of her career and she showed her love and respect towards Bryant. Bryant would’ve been proud to see the growth of the league and Clark leading the charge.

Caitlin Clark has been the most talked about superstar recently in the WNBA. She has been piling up achievements since her debut in the league. Clark recently added another achievement of making the All-Star game as a rookie. She played alongside another great rookie in Angel Reese becoming the first rookie duo to make it to the All-Star game.

Clark didn’t score many points in her All-Star debut, with just four points on 2 of 9 shooting. However, she did set a rookie record for assists in the game with 10. Clark and Reese managed to help their Team WNBA beat the USA Basketball women’s national team.

Both rookies had a great historic night setting records in their first WNBA All-Star game. Right now both stars will be having a break until the play begins again after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
